IT IS WHAT IT IS

Step Back in Time: Capture Memories
with an Old Time Camera!

Do you yearn for a touch of nostalgia and a uniquely vintage aesthetic? Of course you do.

I’m offering to you the opportunity to step back in time and be photographed with my classic old style “view” camera. With my vintage camera, I don't just photograph you; I transport you to a bygone era filled with elegance, opulence, and timeless charm.

I’m NOT offering for you to dress up like they did in the 1800’s with period style clothing. This is merely a modern day natural like portrait done with an old film camera. The quality of this camera and lens is phenomenal, and very sharp. But, if you want to dress up, go for it!

What the heck is a “View” camera?

A view camera is a large-format camera in which the lens forms an inverted image on a ground-glass screen directly at the film plane. The image is viewed and then the glass screen is replaced with the film, and thus the film is exposed to exactly the same image as was seen on the screen.

Photography started out in the mid 1800’s with a “view” style camera. All a camera really is, is a light tight box with lens on one end, and a piece of film on the other in which an image is projected onto from the lens.

Modern cameras, such as a DSLR, uses a light sensitive sensor instead of film to make an image, AND basically works in the same principle as a view camera..believe it or not.

Aren’t View Cameras with the Bellows OLD?

Mostly…YES. But, some companies are still making them today.

To find out more about these old style cameras, check out this article. It explains more in detail than what I can do.

DISCLAIMER:

There is NO retouching, NO removal of blemishes or “can you make me skinny…?” thing. Being photographed on film, many things can go wrong beyond my control. So, there are no promises it will even turn out, that’s the nature of black and white film. A lot can go wrong. IF that’s the case, I will credit your account and we can try it again. IF that doesn’t work, then of course I will refund your payment back to you.
